FENDER SAID
Guitarist Char has had a huge impact on Japanese rock history and continues to be at the forefront of the scene to this day.
The Char Stratocaster Burgundy is a signature model faithfully reproducing Char's iconic 1959 Stratocaster, a hallmark of his career, based on his original instrument and crafted in Japan. The standout matching headstock features a unique Char Burgundy finish, replicating the mellowed Burgundy Mist Metallic hue achieved through natural aging.
The pickups, the key to the sound, are the Char Original Single Coil Stratocaster, developed to reproduce the warm, fat tone of the Char. The neck, which determines playability, is uniquely designed with a thinner profile at the lower frets and a thicker grip at the higher frets, mirroring Char's original instrument.
Additionally, the neck pocket has been designed deeper than usual to replicate the loose tension of Char's original guitar. This design allows for a high string action with a light touch, enabling richer overtones, similar to Char's playing style. To accommodate Char's dynamic whammy bar technique, the tremolo block cavity has been widened, increasing its range of motion.
This limited-edition model comes with a numbered neck plate and is finished with nitrocellulose lacquer for a premium feel. The carefully selected tonewoods include maple and rosewood for the neck and alder for the body, all chosen to match Char’s original guitar. The package includes a hardshell case and a signed certificate of authenticity, making it a true collector's item.
