Lo strumento è originale, a parte il selettore che è stato sostituito. L'originale, fotografato a parte, si riconosce dal jumper di colore rosso, tipico delle JV.
E' presente il route tra neck pickup e scasso del manico.
Sulle sellette il logo "FENDER" si protrae oltre il foro della selletta, tipico di queste primissime JV.
Altra nota, su queste prime JV mancano le saldature tra i pots, il contatto è demandato al foglio di alluminio del battipenna. Le saldature tra i pots sono arrivate qualche mese dopo con le Squier Stratocaster (Alberto Pretto)
