Replaces American Vintage '57 Stratocaster
Replaced by American Original '50s Stratocaster
The first 46 units from the first production of this instrument will have a commemorative Special Edition 1st 46 neck plate. These neck plates commemorate the fact that Fender was founded in 1946, as well as the fact that Fender is releasing the most accurate and beautiful Fender reissue instruments ever from key historical years. The neck plate will serve as an indicator that these “1st 46” models were the first of their kind to be built, as well as add an element of collectability to these first run instruments. The serial numbers of the series and the 46 instruments are not sequential, and among the first 46, were a mix of colors. These units will be randomly distributed around the globe for Fender fans everywhere to have a chance to find one in their local stores.
FENDER SAYS
The American Vintage '56 Stratocaster takes you straight back to mid-1956, when the model was still new and when what is quite possibly the most prized and popular neck ever affixed to the instrument first appeared — a thick one-piece maple neck with a soft "V" shape and comfortably rounded edges. Such meticulous authenticity even extends to the single-ply white pickguard with eight holes, lightweight alder body (ash on white blonde) with deep contours, and vintage-accurate pickups, bridge saddles, tuner spacing and more.
